Born with Down’s Syndrome but refusing to let it define her, Ellie-Bea is a born performer and a semi-finalist of Britain’s Got Talent whose dream is to tread the boards of Broadway.
Since she was seven years p;d the gym has served as Ellie’s main stage where supported by her coach and mum, Anne, she nurtured a natural talent and passion for rhythmic gymnastics. Now, seventeen years after she first put on a leotard, Ellie’s athleticism is being tested to the limits as she prepares for the biggest competition of her career to date - The Special Olympic World Games.
This 1 x 15” documentary follows Ellie-Bea’s journey to the Special Olympics in Berlin this summer, charting her incredible dedication to the sport and championing her efforts to bring her A-game to everything she touches. Over the next few months, Ellie-Bea will be pushing herself to the limits alongside her GB teammates in preparation to represent their country on the world stage. So far in her career Ellie-Bea’s won hundreds of medals but this is the first time she’ll step onto the mat as a part of Team GB, and while she knows the competition will be tough, her sights are set on gold.
